The Ministry of Environment and Water is a government authority, assisting the Minister of Environment and Water in the exercise of his powers, provides technical support for his activities and provides administrative services to citizens and legal persons. |
Responsibilities |
The Ministry of Environment and Waters of the Republic of Bulgaria is responsible for the legislation and implementation of the environmental law of the Republic and the European Union in Bulgaria. The MOEW is the principle authority for the transposition and implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. It also provides a range of administrative services to the Bulgarian citizens and legal persons. |

The Ministry of Environment and Waters of the Republic of Bulgaria is responsible for the legislation and implementation of the environmental law of the Republic and the transposition and implementation of the environmental law of the European Union in Bulgaria. The MOEW is the principle authority for implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive, as a sublaw under the Water Act. The MOEW also provides a range of administrative services to the Bulgarian citizens and legal persons, arising from the Environmental Protection Act and the associated sublaws. |
