Until the development of specific assessment methods for the criteria, the abovementioned definition of the good state of the environment is verified and supplemented by detailed results from the biodiversity assessment in the HELCOM State of the Baltic Sea report, even if they do not fully address the criteria. During the reporting period, Germany cooperated with the Baltic Sea states in the framework of the EU MSRL-CIS process and in HELCOM in order to develop methodological standards (indicators, assessment procedures).
