As part of EEA's ongoing security and identity management improvements, we are currently migrating the system to Entra ID authentication.
We kindly ask all users to start using Entra ID credentials when logging in to the system.
Please note that LDAP authentication will be phased out and disabled in the upcoming months. We encourage you to verify that you can successfully access the system and that your account and permissions function as expected after Entra ID login. Should you encounter any issues or require assistance during this transition, please contact Laszlo Cseh at laszlo.cseh@eaudeweb.ro Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Description parameter
At present, there is insufficient knowledge of the effect of low frequency persistent noise on marine animals. Therefore, no thresholds have yet been set for which levels are compatible with good environmental conditions, either nationally or internationally. EU work is currently underway to set thresholds for low-frequency continuous sound.

Description overall status
The distribution of low frequency sound from ships is modeled for the Baltic Sea area. Here we see a clear overlap between the large shipping routes and areas where the level of low frequency sound is the highest. It is also seen that several of the major shipping routes overlap with habitats for the Danish harbour porpoises populations as well as cod spawning areas. However, it is unknown whether this noise has a significant negative effect on the stocks.
