GES description |
Seasonal succession of dominating phytoplankton groups:
GES is achieved if seasonal succession of dominating phytoplankton groups in assessment units are above threshold values (ratio):
BAL-EE-AA-EE_1: 0,66;
BAL-EE-AA-EE_2;BAL-EE-AA-EE_3;BAL-EE-AA-EE_5: 0,65;
BAL-EE-AA-EGB-Opensea: 0,68;
BAL-EE-AA-GR-Opensea: 0,68;
BAL-EE-AA-GR-Coastal: 0,68;
BAL-EE-AA-NBP-Opensea: 0,70;
BAL-EE-AA-GF-Opensea: 0,70.
Zooplankton mean size and total stock (MSTS)
The Zooplankton Mean Size and Total Stock (MSTS) indicator is comprised of two interrelated values. The environmental condition is considered good if both indicator values exceed the threshold levels for the respective assessment unit. The threshold values for each indicator component (mean size and total stock) are specific for each assessment unit (mean size (µg wet weight ind-1) / total stock (mg m-3)):
