GES description |
GES is achieved if subpopulation of spring spawning baltic herring (Clupea harengus membras) is lower than the fishing mortality level that would provide maximum sustainable yield (Fmsy). GES = F |
GES is achieved if spawning stock biomass (SSB) of subpopulation of spring spawning Baltic herring (Clupea harengus membras) is equal or higher than minimum value of spawning stock biomass (Btrigger) which would ensure fishing mortality level that would provide maximum sustainable yield (Fmsy). GES = SSB ≥ Btrigger. |
GES is achieved if Baltic sprat (Sprattus sprattus balticus) actual fishing mortality (F) is lower than the fishing mortality level that would provide maximum sustainable yield (Fmsy). GES = F |
GES is achieved if baltic sprat (Sprattus sprattus balticus) is equal or higher than minimum value of spawning stock biomass (Btrigger) which would ensure fishing mortality level that would provide maximum sustainable yield (Fmsy). GES = SSB ≥ Btrigger.
In case of Baltic salmon (Salmo salar), GES is determined via indicator smolt production of Baltic salmon relative to the level of natural smolt production capacity on a riverby river basis. GES is achieved if the smolt production of Baltic salmon is 75% of the potential Smolt Production Capacity of the riverby river basin.
In case of perch (Perca fluviatilis), GES is determined via abundance index of sexually mature flounder, perch and female pikeperch in monitoring catches. GES is achieve if index value is >0,6.
In case of European yellow eel (Anguilla anguilla) recruitment index, the geometric mean (Rlim) of yellow eel input from 1960-1979 (ICES 2022b) is used as the threshold value. The value of the indicator is considered to correspond to a good environmental condition if it is at or above the Rlim level.
In case of Spawning stock biomass (SSB) of subpopulation of cod (Gadus morhua) in Eastern Baltic Sea (ICES subdivisions 25–32), the biomass value of the spawning stock of cod inhabiting the eastern Baltic Sea recorded in 2012 (108036 t) is used as a threshold value, as it was the last cod cohort recorded in this sea area that could be registered as a strong generation (ICES 2022a). The value of the indicator is considered to correspond to a good environmental condition if it is at the Blim level or above. |
GES for perch (Perca fluviatilis) is determined via abundance index of large (TL>250 mm) perch (Perca fluviatilis) in monitoring catches. GES is achieved if the indicator value is >0,6. |
In case of pikeperch (Sander lucioperca), GES is determined via ratio between annual commercial catch and biomass index (WPUE in monitoring area). GES = annual commercial catch/WPUE >0,6. |
In case of pikeperch (Sander lucioperca), GES is determined via abundance index of sexually mature flounder, perch and female pikeperch in monitoring catches. GES is achieve if index value is >0,6. |
GES for pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) is determined via indicator 95 % percentile of the length distribution of pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) in monitoring catches. GES is achieved if the indicator value is >0,6. |
In case of flounder (Platichthys flesus), GES is determined via ratio between annual commercial catch and biomass index (WPUE in monitoring area). GES = annual commercial catch/WPUE >0,6. |
In case of flounder (Platichthys flesus), GES is determined via abundance index of sexually mature female pikeperch in monitoring catches. GES is achieve if index value is >0,6. |
GES for flounder (Platichthys flesus) is determined via indicator 95 % percentile of the length distribution of flounder (Platichthys flesus) in monitoring catches. GES is achieved if the indicator value is >0,6. |
