GES description
GES is determined via January to December concentration of total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) in seawater; winter-time concentration of inorganic nitrogen (NO3+NO2–N) (DIN) and phosphates (PO4-P) (DIP) in seawater (HELCOM HOD 39/2012). GES is achieved if indicator values are below threshold values in the assessment units: TN: BAL-EE-AA-NBP-Opensea: 16.2 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-EGB-Opensea: 16.5 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-GR-Opensea: 28.0 µmol/l TP: BAL-EE-AA-NBP-Opensea: 0.38 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-EGB-Opensea: 0.45 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-GR-Opensea: 0.7 µmol/l DIN: BAL-EE-AA-NBP-Opensea: 2.9 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-EGB-Opensea: 2.6 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-GR-Opensea: 5.2 µmol/l DIP: BAL-EE-AA-NBP-Opensea: 0.25 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-EGB-Opensea: 0.29 µmol/l BAL-EE-AA-GR-Opensea: 0.41 µmol/l
GES is determined via summer concentration of total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) in seawater; winter-time concentration of inorganic nitrogen (NO3+NO2–N) (DIN) and phosphates (PO4-P) (DIP) in seawater.
