Αξιολογήθηκε ο συνολικός αριθμός των νέων ξενικών ειδών (ΞΕ) ανά εξαετία (κριτήριο D2C1) και ανά ταξινομική ομάδα για τις θαλάσσιες υπο-περιοχές της Ελλάδας. Παρατηρήθηκε μείωση της εισόδου νέων ΞΕ κατά την εξαετία 2012-2017 σε όλες τις υπο-περιοχές, εκτός από το Νότιο Αιγαίο. Λαμβανομένης υπόψη της χωρικής και χρονικής κατανομής των ΞΕ και των τρόπων μεταφοράς τους, φαίνεται πρόωρο να καθοριστεί ένας αξιόπιστος δείκτης για τα ΞΕ και τα όρια της ΚΠΚ.
