Some interesting results on trophic guild diversity indicators have been obtained which deserve to be developed in depth in the next 6-years cycle. More research is needed at european and regional level both i) to develop and testing robust indicators and ii) to be able to establish GES of D4C1- trophic guild species diversity.

The outcomes of the development and testing of FW4 indicator (Changes in mean trophic level of marine predators) in the area show a stable trend. However, there is no consensus within the OSPAR expert group on how to establish the Good Environmental Status of this indicator and this criterium. More research is needed at european and regional level both i) to develop and testing robust indicators and ii) to be able to establish GES of D4C2-abundance across trophic guilds.
