"The abundances estimates availables never are reffered completelly to the DMELSA area, and the analitical methods, the survey platforms and the time period are different. MAPAMA (2014), spatial modelling. Verborgh (2015) mark-recapture method. " "MAPAMA (2014): 2716 individuals (95%CI: 2364-3065, CV:0,11) Verborgh (2015): 1195 individuals
SUR: between 1992 and 2006 the survival rate decrease form 0.919 (IC 95%: 0.854−0.956) to 0.547 (IC 95%: 0.185−0.866). However, the survival rate of 73% of the social groups does not seem to have been affected (Verborgh, 2015; Verborgh et al., 2016).
"Giménez et al. (2018a), preference for waters between 500 and 2500 m depth. Verborgh (2015), from the eastern Alboran Sea to the Gulf of Vera."
"The are two abundances estimates availables in the DMELSA area based on mark-recapture method (Gauffier et al., 2013; Verborgh, 2015) . " "Gauffier et al. (2013): 349 individuals (95% IC: 321-407; CV: 0.08). Verborgh (2015): 374 individuals
BI: 3.6 years.
GT: 23.35 years (IC 95%: 16.15-34.9).
GR: 5,5% (IC 95%: 2,1-8,9%).
SUR: Period 1999-2005, 0.982 (95% CI: 0.955–0.993) ; period 2006-2007, 0.779 ; period 2007-2008, 0.944 ; period 2010-2011, 0.754 .
""de Stephanis et al., 2008a), preference for waters between 600 and 800 m depth. Verborgh (2015), from 5.8º of longitude to the west of the bank of Djibouti untill the Alboran ridge in the Alborán sea."
There are only robust abundance estimates in the DMELSA based on spatial modelling method (Cañadas and Vázquez, 2014). Cañadas y Vázquez (2014). 429 individuals (IC 95%: 334–557; CV: 0.22).
A critical area for this species has been identified in the DMELSA
Cañadas y Vázquez (2017). 19082 individuals (CV:4.7%).
The abundances estimates availables never are reffered completelly to the DMELSA area, and the analitical methods, the survey platforms and the time period are different. CETASUR (2014), mark-recapture method. Cañadas, A. (comm. pers.). Spatial modelling method. CETASUR (2014), 870 individuals (95% IC: 707-1096; CV: 0.11). Cañadas, A. Balearic Islands: 20%. Cataluña: 10%.
The abundances estimates availables never are reffered completelly to the DMNOR area, and the analitical methods, the survey platforms and the time period are different. García-Barón et al. (2016), single platform ship in Bay of Biscay in september 2013-2015. Hammond et al. (2017), circle back aerial survey and double platform ship survey carried out in continental shelf of iberian peninsula and deep waters of Bay of Biscay waters in july 2016. García-Barón et al. (2016), year 2013, 1350 individuals (CV: 0.28 ), year 2014, 1290 individuals (CV: 0.26), and year 2015 , 1270 individuos (CV: 0.30). Hammond et al. (2017). Block 11, 2052 individuals (CV: 0.22, 95%IC: 1254-3358), block 12, 1025 individuals (CV: 0.21, 95%IC: 648-1620), bloque 12, 3645 individuals (CV: 0.20, 95%IC: 2374-5594).

There are two abundance estimates for the Balearic Islands area based on mark-recapture method (Bortons, 2015; Rendell, per.com 2017). Bortons, (2015), 442 individuals (95% IC=235-1602).

There are only robust abundance estimates in the DMLEBA based on mark-recapture method (Gonzalvo et al 2014). Gonzalvo et al 2014, 517 individuals (%CV=12.4, 95%I.C.=406-658).
