Description parameter
Based on marked juveniles, most of them are captured by gillnets before their second year. The mortality has stabilized or even decreased in the recent years but is till too high, alabout 85-95% before the age of maturity.. No thresholds have been set.
Four of the five assessed river stocks reached the thresholds only in one year during the assessment period. http://www.helcom.fi/baltic-sea-trends/indicators/abundance-of-sea-trout-spawners-and-parr/results-and-confidence/
Only 12 rivers have wild stocks and these are mainly in Gulf of Finland. http://www.helcom.fi/baltic-sea-trends/indicators/abundance-of-sea-trout-spawners-and-parr/results-and-confidence/

Only 12 wild sea trout stocks occur in Finland and most of these are in the rivers running to the Gulf of Finland. Many stocks are maintained by stocking. Sea trout is classified as Critically Endangered in the national red list assessment.
