Q5f - Description of programme for GES assessment
Monitoring has started and will give adequate data to support indicators which measure the distance to GES. It is not yet possible to assess whether the monitoring is sufficient to detect the natural variability. Assessment methods will be developed by 2018 on the basis of the monitored data.
Q5g - Gap-filling date for GES assessment
By2018
Q5h - Plans to implement monitoring for GES assessment
It is expected that GES can be assessed by 2018. Underwater noise indicators will be developed by BIAS project and HELCOM on the basis of current measurements and they will be fully operational by 2018.

Q7b - Description of monitoring of activities
Monitoring of noise is going on and analysis of it's sources is being undertaken in the LIFE+ BIAS project in the Baltic Sea. Generally the noise monitoring collects information from all sea based activities, but specific activity monitoring (eg. shipping) is collected within HELCOM.
