Including MSFD related ecological objectives in MSP
The nutrient load of agriculture and forestry and peat production is reduced.
The nutrient load caused by aquaculture does not threaten the achievement of a good condition or an already achieved good condition and methods that reduce the load are introduced in aquaculture.
The atmospheric nitrogen load caused by shipping is reduced.
The load caused by waste water is reduced
The opportunities for managing internal nutrient stocks in the Baltic Sea will improve
The load of phosphorus and nitrogen as well as solid matter and organic matter is reduced. This is a main target for the sub-targets "RAV".

Target assessment description
MSFD related objectives were included in the Maritime spatial plans and the target was achieved. While this target is still topical; MSP will not be updated during the 3rd MSFD cycle and this target can be ended.
Nutrient loads from agriculture or forestry have not decreased in any MRU. However; the nutrient levels in crop fields has decreased alot; which may indicate reductions in future.
Nutrient loads from fish farms have decreased 49-96% (P) and 32-93% (N) in the MRUs; but no decrease has taken place during the recent 6 years. Because fish farms have been named as a significant pressure in many coastal waterbodies; this target will be continued.
Nitrogen emissions from ships decreased by >25% during 2000-2015; but in recent years there has been also some increases.
Phosphorus and nitrogen loads from industry and WWTPs have decreased in all MRUs. No data is available from ships or scattered buildings.
Pilots and assessments have been made of the applicability of different cleaning methods; but no clear solution was not yet found. The target is continued.
HELCOM nutrient reduction results seem to indicate that the target is achieved; but there is large uncertainty in thresholds in FI. Therefore the target is continued. This is the main target and assessments are given in the sub-targets BAL-FI-RAV1-2030; BAL-FI-RAV2-2030; BAL-FI-RAV3-2030; BAL-FI-RAV4-2030; BAL-FI-RAV5-2030
