Justification description |
Water management and marine management measures in Finland's catchment area and sea area will have little effect on the eutrophication status in the offshore areass by 2027, and good status according to descriptor 5 will not be achieved there before 2027. Sediment-bound nutrients and the cross-border flows of the marine nutrients will maintain the eutrophic conditions for several decades. It is not possible to give an exact estimate of when good status will be achieved. The water and marine management measures that are being implemented will make it possible to prevent the situation from deteriorating and to contribute to a positive trend in the offshore areas as well. |
