Good Environmental Status is achieved in coastal waters when nutrient levels do not exceed the environmental quality standards set nationally in accordance with Directive 2000/60/EC (S.I. 272 of 2009 as amended).

Good Environmental Status is achieved when dissolved oxygen concentrations in coastal waters are between the environmental quality standards set nationally in accordance with Directive 2000/60/EC (S.I. 272 of 2009 as amended).
