Good Status (ParameterAchieved=Yes) is achieved when the extent of adverse effects in any particular Benthic Broad Habitat type is less than 25% of the habitat extent, of which no more than 2% is habitat loss. The quality indicator for adverse effects is not yet agreed upon at EU level, so the HD and WFD state based assessments, and the pressure indicators (BH3) developed through OSPAR for benthic habitats are used.

Description overall status
The quality indicator necessary to define at what level or as a result of what combination of pressures a habitat is adversely affected is not yet agreed at an EU level. A qualitative assessment of habitat state based on pressure data and habitat type is described in the text report. The pressure data indicates that the Celtic Sea South Inner may have 78% of its area in GES and 16% not in GES.

SPATIAL
Integration rule description parameter
The integration used is as per the OSPAR Indicator (BH3) for the Extent of Physical Disturbance to Benthic Habitats from Fisheries with mobile bottom-contacting gears to assess disturbance to the seafloor. Ireland has achieved Good Environmental Status when the extent of habitat disturbance due to anthropogenic pressures is less than 25% of the spatial extent of each Benthic Broad Habitat Type. Benthic Broad Habitats are integrated together and GES is achieved when the total loss of all BBHT is less then 25% of the entire MRU.
Sealed loss is less than 2%. Ireland has achieved Good Environmental Status when the amount of (sealed) loss from anthropogenic pressures does not exceed 2% of each Benthic Broad Habitat Type. Benthic Broad Habitats are integrated together and GES is achieved when the total loss of all BBHT is less then 2% of the entire MRU.

Description overall status
The quality indicator necessary to define at what level or as a result of what combination of pressures a habitat is adversely affected is not yet agreed at an EU level. A qualitative assessment of habitat state based on pressure data and habitat type is described in the text report. The pressure data indicates that the Celtic Sea North Inner may have 53% of its area in GES, 11% not in GES. While concurrently 32.5 % is unknown and 3% is not assessed.

The pressure data indicates that the Celtic Sea North Outer may have 84% of its area in GES and 15% not in GES.

Description overall status
The quality indicator necessary to define at what level or as a result of what combination of pressures a habitat is adversely affected is not yet agreed at an EU level. A qualitative assessment of habitat state based on pressure data and habitat type is described in the text report. The pressure data indicates that the Celtic Sea South Outer may have 70% of its area in GES and 5% not in GES. Concurrently the remainder of the area is considered unknown.
