The abundance estimate is available for a portion of the Ionian Sea during a line transect aerial survey carried out on winter 2016; accordingly, this single estimate estimates is not sufficient to establish a baseline value for the MRU. Future reiterations conducted during same season, corrected for bias, and concerted at subregional and regional level through mandatory international coordination procedures, can lead to definition of subregionalwestern Mediterranean and regional threshold ranges for future assessments. |
