Lo schema di distribuzione della popolazione nidificante nazionale di Caretta caretta e l’abbondanza della popolazione nidificante in aree indice rappresentative sono stabili o in aumento. I parametri demografici neonatali quali la percentuale di emersione e la sex ratio nelle aree indice raggiungono i valori soglia definiti in ambito IMAP. Le aree indice sono oggetto di misure spaziali di conservazione, gestione delle attività umane e adeguato sforzo di monitoraggio. Gli habitat critici conosciuti (cioè i siti di nidificazione e i siti di alimentazione neritica /aggregazione) sono soggetti a misure di contenimento delle maggiori comprovate pressioni.
