Description parameter
Mortality rates from fisheries by-catch are not available and no methodological standards agreed at regional and subregional level.
The new abundance estimate is based on research efforts carried out by ISPRA and scientific institutions of Slovenia and Croatia. Summer aerial surveys 2010 and 2013 allow to construct a baseline relative abundance estimate, not corrected for perception and availability bias, which can represent the lower value of the current value of the criterion. Future reiterations conducted during same season, corrected for bias, and concerted at subregional and regional level through mandatory international coordination procedures, can lead to definition of subregional (Adriatic) and regional threshold ranges for future assessments.
