MS Italy has developed a national specific monitoring programme under the project EcAp-ICZM, to survey planned, developing or realized after 2012 marine and coastal infrastructures requiring a national EIA procedure. For one infrastructure, Terminale GNL to be realized in Monfalcone Port in Adriatic Sea, a specific monitoring programme has been implemented and results have been used to develop a methodological guidance for future monitoring and assessment for D7. Furthermore, during the period 2012-2018, monitoring data on background oceanographical characteristic and features have been collected and analyzed at sub-regional scale in order to identify natural variability trend against which permanent hydrographical modifications due to infrastructures have been assessed. GES for D7 is considered to be achieved based on GES definition adopted in 2012 and future monitoring programme will include multi-pressure analysis due to marine and coastal infrastructures.
