Assessment of the state of macrofaunal communities was performed for the whole assessment unit based on national macrozoobentic index B.
Overall assessment has been done in a descriptive form on the basis of information from various sources. It has been assessed as 20% of total disturbance of the sea bed of the marine reporting unit.

Description overall status
Physical disturbance of the seabed is defined as the change in the bottom of the sea, which can be restored, if the activity causing the interference ceases. For activities that may cause physical disturbance of the seabed is believed to build in the sea or along the shoreline, sand and gravel extraction, dredging and dredged material storage, as well as maritime transport and trawling. Overall assessment has been done in a descriptive form on the basis of information from various sources. It has been assessed as 20% of total disturbance of the sea bed of the marine reporting unit.
The physical loss of the seabed is defined as the change in the substrate or seabed morphology, which lasted or will last for up to two cycles of the marine strategy (12 years) or more of their number by Decision 2017/848. Among the human activities that may cause the loss of physical seabed lists: building in the sea or along the shoreline, sand and gravel extraction, dredging and landfilling. Overall assessment has been done in a descriptive form on the basis of information from various sources. It has been assessed as 1% of total loss of the sea bed of the marine reporting unit.

Description criteria
The criterion value is assessed in accordance with national methodology for hydromorphological classification of WFD transitional and coastal waters. The criterion is a sum of results of criteria D6C1 and D6C2. All identified temporal and permanent physical pressures (beach nourishment, sea bed disturbance, etc.) have been assessed applying the so called ‘importance index’ of pressure for the ecosystem. Obtained values have been summed up. Resulted values were divided either by the length of coast line or by an area of the water body. The results have been expressed in percent and next compared to the threshold values, i.e. 5% changes for very good status and 10% for good status. The latter one has been applied as a threshold value for GES.
No physical disturbances have been identified.

Values achieved of index B and index SM1 were normalized according to the method applied in the HELCOM second holistic assessment of the Baltic Sea (http://stateofthebalticsea.helcom.fi/). The weighted averaging was applied to normalized values with 50% weight coefficient providing BQRs.The resulting BQRs (biological quality ratios) were compared with the threshold value of 0.6 indicating good environmental status.
