Justification description |
Following the significant reduction of the GES threshold for PBDEs, seafood from Polish Marine Waters has been found to contain excessive levels of these contaminants. The use of PDBEs has been banned in the EU since 2003. Estimates indicate that, with current decay rates, PDBEs may continue to be present in the marine environment for decades to come. In this light is highly unlikely that PDBE levels in seafood will drop to GES level by 2027. |
