Target description
Develop and implement appropriate methodology to obtain information to enable the GES to be assessed by 2024.

Target assessment description
Está em curso um programa de monitorização de contaminantes nos recursos marinhos de interesse comercial (MoniPOL) que acaba por dar resposta ao D8 e D9.
Devem ser consideradas as mesmas espécies do D9.
Os microplásticos são particularmente preocupantes porque estão disponíveis para uma vasta gama de organismos e podem transferir substâncias potencialmente tóxicas.
As metas definidas em 2018 com o propósito de "desenvolver e implementar metodologia adequadas, de modo a obter informação, para permitir avaliar o BEA até 2024", foram integradas na meta nacional de forma a garantir uma uniformização de metodologias, a nível nacional, que permitam obter dados comparáveis entre as 3 subdivisões.
Já foram identificados os locais pertinentes para a monitorização, nomeadamente no mar territorial e nas águas oceânicas da subdivisão da Madeira.
