Status Description
The wide distribution of perennial key species Cystoseira barbata with an important role for the marine ecosystem, indicate a good ecological status.
Population of Cystoseira barbata with high associated flora and fauna, and high biomasses at depths between 1-3m, indicate a good ecological status.
The mackrel stock decreased in the last decade because of high fishing effort in the wintering area. The stock could not be evaluated by the Black Sea working group for stock assessment because of limited and unreliable data at regional level.
The sprat stock decreased in the last decade because of high fishing effort.
The turbot stock decreased in the last decade because of high fishing effort.
The whiting stock decreased in the last decade because of high fishing effort.
