Monitoring strategy description
Descriptor 11 on Romanian territorial waters is at the beginning. So far, the initial state has been achieved on water bodies for 2016 - 2017 period. For Descriptor 11, the good ecological status and threshold levels for underwater noise were Not assessed.

Gaps and plans
The impulse noise register has begun. The inventory of the sources of impulsive noise is necessary for the creation of Impulse Noise Registers on the Romanian Black Sea shelf. This inventory is a first step in setting current levels and trends, as recommended by the MSFD -TG Noise Technical Group. For D11C1, good ecological status and threshold levels for underwater noise were Not assessed. D11C2 in Romanian territorial waters is at the beginning. So far, the initial state of D11 has been achieved on water bodies. The underwater noise was monitored with specific equipment. The results indicate that the current noise level on the Romanian Black Sea continental shelf justifies further investigations. For D11C2, good ecological status and threshold levels for underwater noise were not defined.
