Status Description |
During 2006-2011 period, in the biocoenosis of fine sand from the infralittoral zone in which the characteristic species is Lentidium mediterraneum, the analysis of the specific diversity of benthic fauna led to the identification of 28 macrozoobenthic species. In the current period no changes in biodiversity and negative ecological pressure were observed. |
A stable community of macroalgae involves a large number of species and a low biomass of opportunistic species. |

Status Description |
In the muddy bottoms with Modiolus phaseolinus, situated at depths from 50-60 m down to 100m the current analysis of the specific diversity of benthic fauna led to the identification of 23 macrozoobenthic species. No changes in biodiversity and negative ecological pressure were observed. The eutrophication process had a limited impact on these offshore biocoenoses. |
In the muddy biocoenosis with Mytilus galloprovincialis, limited by isobaths of 30 - 50 m, in the current period the analysis of the specific diversity of benthic fauna led to the identification of 54 macrozoobenthic species. No changes in biodiversity and negative ecological pressure were observed. |
Phytoplankton communities structure with diatoms dominance and less algal blooms during the summer is characteristic for marine waters in the last five years. |
