We do not have indicators under any of the relevant criteria for harbour porpoise yet, except for D1C1 in the Baltic Proper, and not any definition of GES either. We only have a qualitative description for the three different populations (North Sea, Belt Sea and Baltic proper) in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. For the Baltic Proper population the situation is different and probably critical. The abundance is below the estimated lowest viable population size and the distribution area seems to be reduced compared to the period 1900 to 1950. |
