Regional cooperation
The development of criteria and methodologies takes place under measure D1-D11: TU9(1b) of the Programme of Measures of the Marine Environment Management Plan 2017-2021, which also covers the sub-regional coordination component. Indication of the measure: D1-D11: TU9(1b) – Developing criteria and methodologies in the field of good environmental status of the marine environment (Activities: The development of missing methods necessary to establish a monitoring programme for the state of the marine environment and the development of a methodology for evaluation of the state of the environment and coordination at sub-regional level; Development of methods to identify links between individual indicators and pressures and sectors). Implementation: Programme “SI-D03-01: Monitoring of commercially exploited fish and shellfish’ is carried out in the framework of various programmes carried out at regional or national level, i.e. the regional MEDITS (International demersal trawl survey in the Mediterranean), MEDIAS (Acoustic Survey of Small Pelagic Fish in the Mediterranean) and SOLEMON (Seaf Stock Assessment). Cooperation in the context of the implementation of the WFD. Participation in ACCOBAMS and Copernicus Marine Service.
