There are no limit values for DIN at national level.
At national level there are no limit values for TN.
Only individual values in heavily modified coastal waters exceed the limit value from time to time, the situation in coastal waters is nevertheless regarded as good.
The limit value used is experimentally established. It is necessary to take account of the specificity of the northern Adriatic ? shallow waters with significant re-suspension of the sediment.
When designating GES used, the limit for hypoxia ? 2 mg/L of dissolved oxygen in water. Assuming that there were no oxygen concentrations below the hypochlorite limit during the period considered, a good condition of the sea has been achieved. Account is taken of the specificities of the northern Adriatic ? shallow sea where oxygen concentrations have often fallen below the pituxion limit in the past. At the national level, a methodology to define the limit values of dissolved oxygen in the sea is currently being prepared.
