To pomeni, da se je pri presoji upoštevala polovična vrednost LOQ. Privzema se, da izmerjene vrednosti v povprečju ne presegajo zastavljene mejne vrednosti, saj gre za omejitev pri merilni metodi, uporabljeni za ta parameter. Za skupino poliaromatskih ogljikovodikov (PAH) se mejna vrednost v TresholdValueUpper nanaša na koncentracijo benzo(a)pirena, saj temelji na njegovi toksičnosti.
Ker trenutno v nacionalni zakonodaji še ni določenih mejnih vrednosti za koncentracije onesnaževal v sedimentu, smo vrednosti za nekatera onesnaževala, izmerjena v sedimentu, orientacijsko primerjali z ERL (ang. Effects Range Low) vrednostmi iz literature po zgledu nekaterih drugih organizacij (OSPAR/US EPA). Te mejne vrednosti ne predstavljajo nacionalno predpisanih mejnih vrednosti in zaradi tega niso bile upoštevane pri presoji stanja.
Navedena vrednost TresholdValueUpper je najvišja dovoljena koncentracija (NDK-OSK).
