Measure description |
This measure goes a step further than the previous measure on the definition and establishment of soil protection zone (s) and looks at the possible designation of a marine reserve at sea, where all anthropogenic pressures are excluded. Given that BNZ is characterised by a large number of users within a relatively limited area, an offshore marine reserve will require considerable preparatory work. As a first step, efforts could be made to match opportunities with the various sectors, knowledge institutions, policy-makers, etc., with a focus on the support of the various stakeholders. At a later stage, it will be possible to identify possible options for the location. It is important to use the results of scientific monitoring and studies (see also section Description measure 1a) in order to maximise the contribution to GES.

In kaart brengen van de belangrijkste functionele habitats voor zowel commerciële als niet-commerciële vissoorten, met het oog op kennisuitbreiding omtrent hun paai-, kraam- en foerageergebieden.

Uitbreiden van het permanent Belgisch akoestisch telemetrienetwerk voor vissen, zowel door het plaatsen van extra ontvangers op geschikte locaties als door het taggen van extra soorten en/of individuen.

Het uitrollen van een management- of beheerplan toegespitst op soorten kraakbeenvissen (haaien en roggen), naar analogie met beheerplannen voor andere vissoorten.

Proefproject rond het taggen van haaien of roggen (bv. 1 dag waar vissers haaien/roggen vangen en die dan taggen met als doelstelling de distributie, vangst/terugvangst van haaien ed. in kaart te brengen).

Het aanpakken van knelpunten langsheen migratieroutes van katadrome vissen zoals paling en anadrome vissen als fint.
