Description criteria
The spatial extent of the hydrographic changes can be assessed partly by actual measurements and partly by the involvement of hydrodynamic models. In relation to criterion D7C1, the extent of the hydrographic changes is descriptive based on the overall goal of good environmental status as a condition where permanent hydrographic changes do not adversely affect marine ecosystems. Physical loss under Descriptor 7, relative to the reporting under D6C1 and D6C4, only incurs losses caused by hydrographic changes. Physical loss of the seabed under descriptor 7 is thus a subset of physical loss of the seabed calculated under descriptor 6. The mapping of D7C1 is characterized by the fact that there are no common standards for defining hydrographic influences between the various pressure factors. Going forward, it will be useful to discuss between authorities and modelers the determination of the trifle limit and the framework for hydrographic influences, for example. for flow velocity in hydrographic models.

Description overall status
According to the GES Decision, thresholds for the negative effects of permanent hydrographic changes (D7C2) must be set in a (sub) regional cooperation. Good environmental conditions in the sea in relation to hydrographic changes are assessed on a background report prepared by MOEA / S. The assessment of descriptor 7 is basically based on the same basis as the assessment of descriptor 6. The assessment of descriptor 7 is made using actual measurements, the involvement of hydrodynamic models and estimates based on experience figures. It includes available EIA reports prepared for projects at sea in accordance with specific legislation, including EIA legislation. For projects where no EIA report is available, estimates have been made of the hydrographic changes based on experience. If the project is deemed not to need an EIA report upon approval, it is assumed that the hydrographic changes are 0. If the project is before 1999 and thus before the implementation of the EIA Directive in Denmark, an estimate of the project's impact on the hydrographic conditions is made. This estimate is based on the average impact of similar projects with the same pressure factor. The assessment of descriptor 7 is based on completed or initiated projects in the period 1983-2016. This is done to ensure the greatest possible consistency with the assessment under Descriptor 6, Criterion 1 on physical loss of the seabed. The assessment of descriptor 7 includes a total of 155 projects for the Baltic Sea and the Belt Sea, which include raw material areas, offshore wind turbines, sailing channels, ports / facilities, pipelines and offshore oil and gas installations.
