Monitoring strategy description |
The programme consists of three sub-programmes gathering data on beach litter, the amount and quality of microparticles of human origin in the water column and the sediment. The programme also includes monitoring of the quantities of waste reported under environmental permits.

Quality control |
Beach litter monitoring follows HELCOM:n EN-ML instructions (HELCOM, 2018). Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association (PSS ry) is responsible for training of volunteers for the monitoring. Monitoring is done three times a year (spring, summer, fall) |
