Target description |
Increase in the number of marine species listed in the Habitats Directive, the Birds Directive and the SPA/BD Protocol which maintains or achieves a satisfactory conservation status.
The condition of populations of fish and cephalopods representing fish and cephalopods, also of commercial interest, is improving. These include vulnerable species, in relation to their low reproductive capacity (sharks and rays) and/or species of commercially exploited fish and cephalopods. In the latter case, the 3 T3.1 Environmental Target is applied.
Coastal fish populations show an improvement assessed on the basis of the demographic characteristics of the populations of the coastal fish that make up them, with reference to the conditions applicable to the MPAs.
By 2020, the impact of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU fishing) has been reduced and knowledge of the effects of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU fishing) on fishery resources and biodiversity has increased, including through the implementation at national level of Regulation (EU) No 1005/2008 to combat IUUF.
A regulation of recreational fishing in Italian marine waters shall be prepared by 2020 and a first assessment of its impact shall be carried out.
By 2020, the Minimum Landing Size of commercial sharks is regulated.
