Target code/description
TIETO3: Finland's maritime chartographic products are included in the ISO S-100 data model of International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). Up-to-date topographic and navigational data products are available for planning and monitoring.
ROSKAT1: Waste reception is effective in all the ports.
ALUE1: Maritime spatial planning is carried out in a way that it advances the achievement of good environmental status in marine environment.
ROSKAT4: Amount of plastics in marine environment decreases by at least 30 % from the 2015 level.
ROSKAT2: Number of cigarette butts on urban beaches decreases significantly.
ROSKAT3: Urban waste water treatment plants remove a highly signficant part of the microlitter from the waste water.
Target 26: Target 26 - reducing the input of litter (macro- and micro-sized litter, including lost fishing gear) 30% compared to baseline year (2017) within the six year assessment period.

PL_Target_D10C3: Achieving trends of decreasing number of litter and micro-litter classified in two categories: artificial polymeric materials and others ingested by marine species belonging to the groups: birds, mammals, reptiles, fish or invertebrates and occurring in a given region by achieving the environmental targets indicated for criteria D10C1 and D10C2.
PL_Target_D10: Reduction of the number of newly introduced and deposited litter items from various, terrestrial and marine sources, into the marine environment, to levels guaranteeing the proper functioning of the ecosystem, taking into account its natural resilience or the elimination of newly introduced litter.
PL_Target_D10C2: Achieving declining trends in the number of micro-litter defined as particles less than 5 mm in size, classified in two categories: artificial polymer materials and other, occurring on the shoreline, in surface water and in marine sediments by taking appropriate measures including appropriate legislation on the use of microparticles in industry and disposal at the stage of wastewater treatment, removal of macrolitter from the marine environment that are the source of secondary microparticles, but also through activities including proper education and raising public awareness.
PL_Target_D10C1: Achieving declining trends in the number of solid litter items, excluding micro-litter, classified as one from the category: artificial polymer materials, rubber, cloth/textiles, paper/cardboard, processed/worked wood, metal, glass/ceramics, chemicals, food waste or unidentified litter deposited on the shoreline, floating on the surface and deposited on the seabed with particular emphasis on litter characterized by exceptional harmfulness or a very long degradation period by taking appropriate measures including relevant legislation, waste disposal, but also through proper education and public awareness.
PL_Target_D10C4: Limiting to a minimum the number of individuals belonging to selected species of birds, mammals, reptiles, fish or invertebrates that have been adversely affected, in the form of health changes or death, resulting from the presence of litter, including micro-litter in the marine environment (e.g. as a result of ingestion or entanglement) by achieving the objectives indicated for criteria D10C1 and D10C2.
UZO5: The objective is "Seas without pressures from waste". The objective is implemented by means of the operational objectives UZO5.1, UZO5.2 and UZO5.3. The environmental objectives established in 2012 and their description under the 2012 MSFD report continue to apply. They are the basis for the 2016-2021 programme of measures notified to the European Commission in 2016. Since the implementation of the measures was only started in 2016, an assessment of the progress and effectiveness of the measures as a basis for updating the environmental objectives is often not yet possible. Where possible, the text report shows the achievement of objectives and/or the state of implementation of the measures. Only in individual cases where an indicator assessment is available on the state of achievement of the target, this will be reported in the Progress Assessment.
UZO5.2: Hazardous waste proven to be present in marine organisms (in particular, microplastics) is approaching zero zero in the long term. The objective is "Seas without pressures from waste". The environmental objectives established in 2012 and their description under the 2012 MSFD report continue to apply. They are the basis for the 2016-2021 programme of measures notified to the European Commission in 2016. Since the implementation of the measures was only started in 2016, an assessment of the progress and effectiveness of the measures as a basis for updating the environmental objectives is often not yet possible. Where possible, the text report shows the achievement of objectives and/or the state of implementation of the measures. Only in individual cases where an indicator assessment is available on the state of achievement of the target, this will be reported in the Progress Assessment.
UZO5.3: Other adverse environmental effects (such as entanglement and strangulation) are reduced to a minimum. The objective is "Seas without pressures from waste". DK-T10.6: The Danish Fisheries Agency draws up an estimate of the amount of lost fishing gear in Danish marine areas up to 2020.
DK-T10.2: The Ministry of Environment and Food contributes to work regionally and in the EU regarding establishment of threshold values and determination of good environmental status, and works to ensure that the quantities of marine litter are in accordance hereto.
